Audio Production for Nonprofits!
For better-or-worse, we live in a world where multi-tasking isn't an option for most, but, instead a way of life. Audio blends well into such a life-style because it doesn't require the listener to stop what they are doing in order to engage with your content, unlike video and text. Whether at the gym, while commuting or at work, people are typically doing more things at one time than ever before. And most are connected to an audio-ready device. A considerable strength of audio is that you can effectively and affordably deliver your information along with the unique enthusiasm and attitude that fuel your work. |

How Do I Get Your Message Heard? The first key to getting people to listen is by offering them something that is compelling but also intimate, portable, and complete.

Where Do Your Projects Get Released? The Internet: This is probably the first and easiest place to start. If you already have a blog then you're half- way there. When offering any media on the Internet, bandwidth is an issue. Audio is a great choice because you can maintain a high file quality at an affordable data transfer price. Cell Phones: One of the more recent technologies to appear is the ability to share audio content over your phone. There are many variations, but the simplest is where one can text a friend a phone number which s/he calls to immediately listen to your program over his/her phone (no data charges!). Traditional Radio Programs: There are a multitude of progressive community, public and micro- radio stations around the country that are eager for content. Many of these outlets do not have the budgets to pay, but if your main concern is getting your message heard and your organization's name out then this is an amazing resource to take advantage of. To reach out to this broad audience all you need is the content! |

Why Me?I have a 15+ year background in grassroots activism and media production. I have as much passion for the message as I do for conveying it. I not only understand the inner workings of nonprofits, I respect their needs and limitations. With contacts in various sectors of the radio industry (from online to terrestrial stations) I have a diverse network within which to shop your content. In regards to production style, I think people are already bombarded with enough super-slick and unrealistic images, so my style comes from a more "direct cinema" and documentary perspective. I like to record where the people are - on the street, at rallies, at work, in hotel rooms, where ever! I think this gives my work a more realistic and personal feel. Below are examples of some past projects. If you like what you hear, contact me and we can talk about what we might be able to put together for your group. Money should not be a barrier to us discussing the possibilities! |
